This figure represents an increase of 5.7% from the previous month and is 31% higher than that recorded in December 2024. The total cost of this basket represents 11.1% of the average salary, estimated at $1,669,987 for the month of December. Meanwhile, the cost of unsubsidized drinking water service is $32,435. The 5.7% increase in the last month is based on the update of the tariff tables for all services and the increase in electricity consumption. In the year-on-year comparison, the transportation sector recorded a variation of 48%, while water increased by 13%, electricity by 19%, and natural gas by 28%. On average, the tariffs paid by AMBA households cover 53% of the costs, while the State covers the remaining 47%. According to sources, the weight of transportation spending on the salary represents 43%.
